Come and experience life as a firefighter as you enter our gallery and learn about the history and the longstanding legacy of fighting fires in Calgary and surrounding areas.
Established in 1986, the Firefighters Museum of Calgary is home to an extensive collection of firefighting equipment from the early 1900s to the present; including hand drawn, horse drawn and motorized apparatus. There are photographs, artwork, memorabilia, and historical documents dating from the inception of the Calgary Fire Department until now.
The Museum's main office is now located at 271 Midpark Blvd. SE. There is limited access to phone and internet at the moment but full services should resume shortly!
We're looking for volunteers for light packing and organizing at the old museum. Join us from 9 am to 12 pm or 1 - 4 pm. Coffee and snacks will be provided!
The Calgary Fire Department is celebrating Fire Prevention Week, Oct 6–12 and the theme is 'preventing kitchen fires'. Have you ever had to put out a cooking or grease fire in your home?
