Programs

The Firefighters Museum of Calgary gallery spaces are currently under construction so we have amped up our offsite programs and outreach initiatives to better CONNECT with the community.

Conversations in the Kitchen

This ongoing series provides a forum for dialogue, cultural connections and the continuation of a longstanding firefighting tradition – mealtimes! Among our featured speakers are museum professionals, historians and firefighters. All presentations / talks are followed by conversation in the kitchen complete with beverages and your presenter’s favourite recipe.

Friday, August 22: Mitigating Museum Disasters

Join Irene Kerr, Executive Director of the Museum of Highwood, as she tells how the museum, its staff and collections survived not one but two devastating disasters:  fire and flood.  Afterwards, Irene will share a family recipe in our fire hall kitchen.

Admission by donation. Maximum 15 particpants.
